About hayley

Sometimes we don’t need someone to give us the answers.
We just need someone to help us make sense of the questions.

Hayley has always been drawn to the
in-between spaces. The chapters of life where things are not quite clear, and something is shifting beneath the surface.

Her story

As a psychologist and psychotherapist, Hayley supports people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, uncertain or quietly undone by something they cannot fully name. Some are moving through a change in identity, relationships, work or motherhood. Others arrive with a sense that life is not unfolding the way they thought it would.

For over a decade she has worked with adults in private practice, public health, community services and national policy. Working across individuals and systems has shaped her belief that a person’s story can never be separated from the context in which it unfolds.

A slower, steadier kind of therapy.

Her approach, in plain language

Sessions are unhurried and conversational. There is no set agenda and no expectation that you will arrive with answers. Over time, many people find that the things they could not name begin to take shape.

Background

The Waiting Room

The Waiting Room began as an idea long before it became a practice. Therapy often begins with a pause: a moment to sit with what is shifting, and to find language for what is happening inside.

Alongside her clinical work, Hayley writes under the same name. Some people come for support. Others find their way in through the writing. Both are welcome.

No longer in the old version of your life, but not yet in the new one.

Adults aged 18 and over who are open to looking inward and who would value depth and reflection over a short, strategy-focused program.

The Waiting Room is not a crisis or emergency service. In an emergency, call 000.
